João Félix has signed a two-year contract with Al Nassr, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays. The contract will expire in June 2027. Chelsea were presented with a €50 million offer that included add-ons and a significant sell-on clause after the Saudi club intervened late to thwart Benfica’s attempt to re-sign their former prodigy.

With high hopes for a comeback in Saudi Arabia, the Portuguese forward will now be a part of a team managed by Jorge Jesus and led by Cristiano Ronaldo.

In an agreement worth €25 million for 50% of Félix’s rights, Benfica had been in advanced negotiations to bring him back to Lisbon. Chelsea, however, turned down the offer in favor of Al Nassr’s full ownership proposal, which was nearly equal to their asking price.

Performance-based add-ons and an initial payment of about €30 million are part of the agreement. In the end, Chelsea obtained nearly full value in this sale, having just a year before paid Atletico Madrid more than £42 million to acquire Félix.

A formal contract offer to Félix and a completed transfer proposal to Chelsea were part of Al Nassr’s quick and decisive move, according to reports from a number of sources, including Fabrizio Romano. Terms were reached by July 27 and the player was given the all-clear to have a medical examination prior to preseason play.

Joao Felix Struggled After Benfica Move and Could Revitalize Career With Cristiano Ronaldo

With only 20 appearances for Chelsea in the 2024–2025 season, 25-year-old Félix had a rough time in London. Due to the Portuguese attacker’s inconsistent performance on previous loans, Chelsea decided to let him go. He will now play with Cristiano Ronaldo, Otavio, Aymeric Laporte, and Alex Telles as he embarks on a new chapter in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Nassr’s continued desire to rule the Saudi Pro League and compete globally is reflected in their pursuit of João Félix. With Ronaldo already spearheading the attack and Jorge Jesus in charge, Félix will have the setting to return to his peak performance. The 25-year-old attacker is now trying to rekindle a career that once promised superstardom, supported by a huge salary and a well-known Portuguese core.
