Chelsea defender Jorell Hato has shared his feelings about the club’s defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge. The Blues controlled the game in the first half but fell to defeat in the second half when Trevoh Chalobah was sent off.

Speaking to the press after the match, Hato explained what he noticed during the game, saying:

“You can see it just affects the game, when we are down to 10 men against 11, and we did it for nearly 40 minutes yesterday. You can see it’s very difficult, We knew of course they would be playing on the sides and coming in with crosses. I think we could have done better, for sure. We’re very disappointed because we knew it would be difficult, but I think we didn’t give a lot of chances away before their equaliser.

“So, as I said, we’re very disappointed. I would say the first half was good from our side, We had a lot of possession, we created chances, we scored to make it 1-0 as well. We were playing well and scored a good goal.”

Chelsea have had questionable discipline recently, getting a player sent off in successive games and even partaking in multiple brawls during the defeat to the Seagulls.

Chelsea and Brighton Will Not Face Further Punishment

Chelsea and Brighton will not face any retrospective punishment for their brawl in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge. Notably, former Seagulls midfielder Moises Caicedo was involved in a fight with Jan Paul van Hecke as both sides clashed.

However, journalist Nizaar Kinsella revealed that there will be no further punishment for the brawl after VAR reviewed the incident, writing in a post on social media:

“This Moises Caicedo incident was seen and reviewed by VAR at the time so any retrospective action is highly unlikely. It’s likely both Chelsea and Brighton will be charged for failing to control their players for the melee at the end.”

Chelsea will hope they can handle their disciplinary issues and avoid getting into any more brawls and drawing any further sending-offs in their subsequent games.
