It looks very likely that Chelsea will end up losing Eden Hazard during next summer’s transfer window. The Belgian ace’s current contract with the club is set to expire during the summer of 2020 and he has yet to agree to fresh terms amidst interest from Real Madrid.
This means that the club will likely have to sell him this summer or they could risk losing him for free the following year. Hazard has been arguably the best Blues player during recent seasons and replacing him will be no easy task.
The Blues have recruited Christian Pulisic, who will join permanently at the end of the season from Borussia Dortmund. The American was signed from Dortmund this month but has been sent on loan to the Bundesliga club for the rest of the season. While the youngster is a talented player, he is untested in England. He may also take time to adapt to life at Stamford Bridge and has struggled for consistency in Germany this season following the emergence of Jadon Sancho at Dortmund.
Eriksen would be the perfect replacement to Hazard. The Dane is arguably one of the most gifted players in the Premier League and one of the unluckiest players to have not won a major trophy in England. He is capable of sending perfect through balls and scoring 30-yard screamers.
So far this season, Eriksen has played 20 Premier League games, scoring four goals and providing eight assists. He is an underrated player and one could even argue that he is a better player than Harry Kane.
Eriksen is also already tested in England and has all the makings to be a hit at Stamford Bridge. He is certainly a player that Chelsea should go all out to sign next summer if they want to be trophy contenders next season.
