Emerson Palmieri is “feeling great” and ready to make his first-team debut for Chelsea.

Palmieri arrived at the Blues from Roma in January and is likely to get his first taste of action for the club when they face off against Hull City in an FA Cup fifth-round clash on Friday evening.

The 23-year-old suffered a cruciate ligament injury on the final day of last season and only made one appearance off the bench for Roma this term prior to his move to Stamford Bridge.

With Chelsea set to face off against Spanish giants Barcelona next month, manager Antonio Conte will likely rotate his squad for the game against Championship side Hull and this will likely allow Palmieri to get his first taste of action for the English club.

“Physically, I feel great,” Emerson said. “The injury is now in the past. I came here because this is a great club with a great history. English football is something I have been watching since I was 15 years old. It’s a really beautiful game over here and it’s going to be even more beautiful to play it. I’m coming here with great expectations… I am definitely going to improve here at Chelsea.”
