Chelsea are in discussions with Serie A side AS Roma over a stunning double deal for Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko, reportedly worth up to €65 million.

That’s according to sources of Sky Sports Italia, who also claim that the Blues will look to include Michy Batshuayi on loan as part of the deal. It’s been reported for some time that the two clubs have been in discussions over the highly rated left-back Palmieri, with the player’s agent confirming earlier that Chelsea are a “concrete possibility” for his charge.

This evening, following the collapse of the Blues’ bid for injured West Ham striker Andy Carroll and amidst spectacular reports of a potential Peter Crouch bid, Sky Sports’ Gianluca Di Marzio suggests that the former Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko is also being targeted by Chelsea as part of a bumper deal. The West London have reportedly offered a combined fee in the region of €50 million, but the Serie A side are said to be holding out for at least €65 million.

Meanwhile, it’s also been alleged that Roma have Daniel Sturridge in their sights should Chelsea land Dzeko without Batshuayi heading in the opposite direction.
