Former Chelsea Defender Retires From Professional Football

Former Chelsea and Leicester City defender Robert Huth has confirmed his retirement from professional football.  After being released by the Foxes at the end of last season, the 34-year-old Huth became a free agent. He was linked with a move to Derby County this month, where he would have played under former Blues team-mate Frank Lampard, but the latest news puts paid to that happening.

At the end of a week where they were comfortably beaten 3-0 Barcelona, Chelsea made sure they weren’t knocked out of the FA Cup. The Blues overcame a spirited Leicester side after extra time and booked their place in the semifinal at Wembley against Southampton.
