Bayern Munich’s bid for Callum Hudson-Odoi has been rejected for the fourth time. The Bundesliga champions have been eyeing the Chelsea winger and are believed to have made a revised offer of £22.5 million for the youngster.
During the January transfer window, the German club offered in excess of £30 million for the 18-year-old winger but this was also rejected by Europa League champions.
The fourth bid is significantly lower as compared to the January offer as Hudson-Odoi’s contract will end in the coming summer of 2020. However, the England international can also sign a pre-contract agreement with other clubs outside the United Kingdom by January 2020.
Hudson-Odoi joined the Blues academy in 2007 at the age of seven. He recently posted a video clip of himself updating fans of his rehabilitation progress. Fans were immediately appeased with lots of them believe that Hudson-Odoi can play by September.
Bayern, on the other hand, are looking to replace Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben after the two left the Allianz Arena. The duo have signalled their intentions to leave the German club after their contracts expire. The German club are also said to be targeting Leroy Sane of Manchester City.
With the departure of Eden Hazard from Stamford Bridge and with the transfer ban slapped against them, it is unlikely that Chelsea will let go of their prized young player. Hazard recently completed his dream move to Real Madrid and joined Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu. However, it is believed that Hudson-Odoi is no closer to signing a long-term contract with Chelsea, as both are looking for the right agreement.
Chelsea face a two-window transfer embargo and are expected to maximise all their loanees and young players for the next two seasons. And with the possible entry of Frank Lampard as manager of Chelsea, things will going to be interesting for the English club.
