Things do not look good for Chelsea at the moment. Not only are they not title contenders, but it is hard to even see them finishing in the top four this season judging by the way that they are currently playing. Though they started this season strongly, Maurizio Sarri’s side’s 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City last weekend was their second humiliating defeat within the space of two weeks. They also went down 4-0 against Bournemouth late in January.
To make matters worse, the Blues may have a lot of restructuring to do during the summer. The future of Eden Hazard remains a mystery. The Belgian is reportedly a priority target of Real Madrid and considering that he has yet to agree to fresh terms at Stamford Bridge, it looks likely that he will go.
Since arriving at the West London club in 2012, Hazard has been one of the club’s best players. He has won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup and one Europa League. He has also been one of Sarri’s best players this season and has so far played 32 times in all competitions, scoring 15 goals according to Transfermarkt.
If Hazard does go, the Blues will need to bring in quality attackers if they want to re-establish themselves as genuine title contenders. One player that they should consider signing is Everton’s Richarlison. The 21-year-old winger is a star in the making. He has impressed for the Toffees this season, so far scoring 10 goals from 25 Premier League games and his displays have led to him being included in the Brazil national team.
Due to his quick feet and agile movement, Richarlison is a nightmare for defences. He has lethal finishing ability and is also capable of scoring from long-range. While he still has flaws in his game, Richarlison has shown tremendous potential and has the ability to become one of the world’s best attackers if his flaws are ironed out.
The Blues must definitely consider a move for this player.
