Netherlands assistant manager and former Chelsea hero Ruud Gullit has revealed that he is a fan of youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Loftus-Cheek is one of the most exciting young players in England and was a star for England during their 2018 World Cup campaign. The youngster is perhaps one of the unluckiest players in the Premier League, however. He would easily slot into the starting XI of most elite team’s across world football. However, he has been restricted in terms of being a first-team regular for the Blues this season due to the high quality that Maurizio Sarri has to call upon.
In spite of not playing all games for the Blues this season, Loftus-Cheek has impressed whenever called upon. He has managed an impressive six goals from 11 games across all competitions this season, which included a strike during the club’s 2-1 defeat against Wolves last week.
There were reports suggesting that Loftus-Cheek would be loaned out during the January transfer window due to his inability to be a first-team regular within Sarri’s side. If the club were to make him available for loan, he will surely not be short of offers. However, the player has certainly proven through his performances this season that he does not require another temporary spell in order to excel at the highest level, he is now ready. Due to the quality he has at his disposal, Sarri now faces a healthy dilemma in order to give Loftus-Cheek as many opportunities as possible.

As quoted by the official Chelsea website, the 56-year-old Gullit said: “Loftus-Cheek is a very good player. I’m a big fan and I would like to see him play a bit more so I hope he gets some more time on the pitch.
“Man City play good football and Maurizio Sarri also wants to play the kind of football which we all love. What he is trying to do is fantastic.”
