With Chelsea finishing fifth in the Premier League table last season, it is a matter of concern and urgency to bring in some new signings and change the system under their newly appointed manager Maurizio Sarri. Here are some possible transfer targets for the Blues.
Alisson Becker – With all the Chelsea transfer news about the Belgian, if Thibaut Courtois leaves Chelsea this summer, it will leave a huge gap in the goalkeeping position for the Premier League club. However, Alisson Becker, who plays for Roma, has been in stunning form and has an impressive future ahead of him. The Brazilian’s performances have made him a top target for many clubs, including Chelsea.
Kalidou Koulibaly – Club skipper Gary Cahill might not be a permanent fixture for Chelsea going forward because of his age. This opens up possibilities of signings that can shore up Chelsea’s centre-back problems. Senegal defender Koulibaly, who plays for Napoli, is a solid option for them.
Robert Lewandowski – Although Giroud and Morata have potential and are skilled, they will not be enough when it comes to topping the Premier League table comfortably. Polish marksman Lewandowski plays for Bayern and has been in prolific form. If Chelsea manage to get their hands on him it will be singing of the season in EPL and will also make the Blues’ forward line a relentless force.
Leonardo Bonucci – Sarri is already targeting AC Milan defender Bonucci which will increase the quality of the Blues’ defence significantly. However, there are obstacles along the way with PSG also planning to sign and could outbid Chelsea.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic – Lazio star Savic has been in great form, with 14 goals and nine assists in all competitions last season. Sergej plays as a midfielder and could be a great addition in the centre of the park Chelsea.
