Former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel has reportedly held meetings with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia about succeeding Antonio Conte as Blues manager.
Tuchel’s future has been widely discussed in recent days, after he reportedly turned down the chance to become Bayern Munich boss from next season.
In addition to Chelsea, the 44-year-old has also been linked with a move to Arsenal, who are reportedly looking out for a replacement for veteran boss Arsene Wenger. However, the German reportedly does not want to move to the North London club as he fell out with their new head of recruitment Sven Mislintat while the two worked together at Dortmund.
According to German sports journalist Raphael Honigstein, Tuchel looks more likely to head to West London next season instead. He said: “I have it on pretty good authority that Thomas Tuchel made a very good impression on Marina Granovskaia in a meeting they’ve had. I don’t know how recent that meeting was.
“Remember, they were talking to him before the start of this season on the assumption that Conte might actually go.”
It looks increasingly unlikely that Conte will remain at Stamford Bridge beyond this season. The Italian has been linked with a move to PSG, who are likely to part ways with Unai Emery at the end of the season, and a return to the Italian national team.
