The Court of Arbitration for Sport last month lifted sanctions against Chelsea, allowing the Blues to acquire new players this January. However, the London-based club has yet to make any moves.
The club worked extremely hard to have the transfer ban lifted in time for the January window. However, Frank Lampard has said that he is not going to bring in new players this month.
Earlier, several players have been linked to the English club but nobody has been close to signing. And while fans are getting bothered with how the club is acting in the transfer window, the Chelsea boss has maintained that he will not sign or bring in new players just for the sake of it. He further reiterated that he is prepared if no new players join him at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard Gives Positive Update on Loftus-Cheek’s and Pulisic’s Injuries
The Chelsea coach also gave an update on the status of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic. Lampard was delighted to announce that Loftus-Cheek has made positive steps towards his recovery. The coach said that Ruben had been training with the Under 16’s and will be progressing soon to the 23’s in a pretty short time. Lampard is also confident that Loftus-Cheek will be back to training with the first team in no time.
He is also announced that Pulisic will be back at the end of the break. Lampard said that the break in February will give the American enough time to recover.
Lampard Dismisses Transfer Claims and Rumours
Lampard had also dismissed rumours surrounding movements of several Chelsea players. The Blues head coach said that Ross Barkley, Oliver Giroud and Willian will remain with the club. He said that Barkley had been playing well and there is no talk of him going somewhere else. Lampard also said the same thing about Giroud. And he was adamant on Willian’s move-away claims. He said that the Brazilian will remain with the Blues.
