Los Blancos are keen on acquiring Eden Hazard from Chelsea. They have been vocal about their interest in the Belgian international over the past 12 months.

However, the reported £130million valuation given by Chelsea for their talisman may hinder Hazard’s move to Bernabeu Stadium, despite him remaining likely in the eyes of the Bookies to play his last game for the Blues in their upcoming Europa League final against Arsenal.

Real Madrid ended their 2018/19 campaign without any silverware and need reinforcements for the upcoming season. The arrival of Zinedine Zidane last March was not enough to lift their standing, and the Frenchman was assured of support in the transfer this summer. Zidane’s main target? Hazard.

Hazard has long confirmed his interest in joining Zidane at the Bernabeu Stadium in Spain. He considers it a “dream” move and there is little doubt that he wants to be with the La Liga giants this summer.

But issues seemed to have risen for both clubs, as the Blues are in the midst of a transfer embargo and it looks like overturning the sanction will be more than a little difficult after their initial appeal was rejected. The transfer ban will not allow them to replace any players they release.

This means that with a year left on his contract, there is a slim possibility that Chelsea might not release Hazard after all, even though it means they’d later lose him to a free transfer. With the price on his head standing at £130 million, Real Madrid are said to be reluctant to splash out, with their budget standing at no more than £88 million for Hazard.

The discrepancy of the two sides’ valuation for Hazard is great, and it is, therefore, a possibility that the Belgian international might remain at Stamford Bridge for another season – something that will be music to the ears of Blues fans. Real Madrid remain optimistic of acquiring Hazard, but it is not yet clear whether or not they are prepared to pay more for the star winger.

Hazard, on the other hand, reportedly wants a deal to be completed soon after the Europa League final. He personally informed the Chelsea hierarchy that he wants to be with Zidane and will not sign any new contract that may be tabled. It is expected that one way or another, Hazard’s future will soon be known right after the final in Baku next week.
